Head Coach

PRIELLE ZAFFT

Prielle Zafft’s journey with the Edinburgh Marlins comes full circle this year. She first joined the team at just five years old and spent 13 summers swimming as a Marlin. Prielle later continued her competitive career with Swim Atlanta for nine years and was a member of the Lanier High School Varsity Swim and Dive Team all four years of high school.

Prielle began her coaching career in 2021 as a junior coach. From 2022–2024, she served as an assistant coach under head coaches Josh Morgan and Mia Walters, where she developed strong leadership and coaching skills. In 2025, she stepped into the role of Co-Head Coach alongside Maddy Cohen. Her long-standing dedication to the Marlins and extensive coaching experience make her an incredible asset to the team.

Outside of the pool, Prielle is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, where she is part of the Honors College and the College of Nursing. She is actively involved on campus as a member of Kappa Delta, the Student Nurses Association, and Gamecock Club Swimming, and she has earned recognition on the President’s and Dean’s Lists.

Additionally, Prielle also works at a pediatric primary care office and shadows a nurse practitioner, gaining hands-on experience that continues to strengthen her skills, knowledge, and compassion in the medical field. In addition, she works with the Swim Across America Junior Advisory Board as an advisor, which is an open-water event that fundraises for childhood cancer research at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Aflac Blood Disorder Center.

Prielle is passionate about building a strong team culture and supporting each swimmer’s individual goals and progress. She strives to help athletes reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love for the sport. The Edinburgh Marlins are excited to welcome Prielle’s energy, positivity, and leadership as Head Coach for the 2026 season!
