Edinburgh Marlins Swim Team

The Edinburgh Marlins Swim Team is a neighborhood summer team within the Gwinnett County Swim League (GCSL).

AGE & ABILITY

• NEW SWIMMERS: Ages 3+ can learn swim strokes with the Mini Marlins!
• SWIM TEAM: Swimmers of all experience levels from ages 4 to 18. 
  • Team swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted.

LOCATION

• Our Home Pool is located in the Edinburgh subdivision off Johnson Road (next to Riverside Elementary)

SEASON

• Our Season runs from mid-May to the end of June.

PRACTICES

• Practices are held Monday-Thursday with a Fun-Friday practice each week.

MEETS 

• There are typically 5-6 meets during the season.
• Every Thursday night at 6pm beginning at the end of May.
• Meets are held at our home pool and various team pools across Gwinnett County.

NEIGHBORHOOD INFO

• The Edinburgh Marlins Swim Team was established in 2005.
• Edinburgh subdivision has over 475 homes and sits on over 600 acres.
• Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh is the Bears Best Golf Course, an 18-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus.
• The team's Junior Olympic Swimming Pool is right off the newly renovated clubhouse; the pool amenities also include a waterslide and wading pool.

PRACTICES

• We DO have practice the mornings of meets.
• Please NO talking to coaches during practice. Email them or catch them after practice ends.

WEATHER

• We DO swim in the rain – even hard rain!
• If it storms (lightning or thunder) we go to plan B. 
• Please do NOT leave a meet or practice until it is officially canceled via text.
• Meets and practice are always on unless you hear from us via email and/or text.

MEET JOBS

• We have a small team, so we need your help at every meet.
• You may swap shifts with someone.
• If you are assigned and cannot make it, please find your own replacement. 
• If you no-show for a meet you previously confirmed your child cannot swim at the next meet. 

ABSENCE / SICKNESS

• If you can't make a meet, notify the coaches by the Friday prior to the meet your child will miss! Last-minute scratches are a problem for all.
• Sick kid the day of the meet? Notify coaches via email immediately. If you are scheduled to work, notify the Volunteer Coordinator and find a replacement for your shift ASAP.

BEFORE 1st DAY OF PRACTICE – 100% refund of registration fees if withdrawn before the first day of practice. NO refunds on apparel. 

1st DAY OF PRACTICE to MAY 23 – Only swimmers deemed to be unable to swim by doctor or head coach will receive 100% refund of their registration fee less the GCSL swimmer registration fee. NO refunds on apparel. 

MAY 24 to JUNE 13 – After the mock meet only swimmers deemed to be unable to swim by the doctor or head coach will receive 50% refund of their registration fee less the GCSL swimmer registration fee. NO refunds on apparel.
