Hello Marlins!!

Wow, we can't believe it is already time to start thinking about our 2019 swim season. There are a few matters of business to address. 

COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our swim committee. The open positions for 2019 are Treasurer, Starter, Head of Concessions, and Sponsorship/Fundraising. 

What does one get out of joining the committee? Each committee member receives one free swimmer, fulfills their mandatory volunteer hours through their position, holds a leadership role, has more overall input, and gets to be a part of a fun team. Treasurer and Sponsorship also function behind the scenes and these positions are 'off duty' during meets, so you can kick your heels up, watch your swimmers do their thing, and relax! If you would consider taking on one of these roles or want more info on what the positions entail, email Jake Edwards @ [email protected].

REGISTRATION:

Our tentative registration dates are as follows:

Sunday, February 24th

1-2 pm- Open to RESIDENTS ONLY

2-4 pm- Open to ALL SWIMMERS

Sunday, March 17th

2-4 pm- Open to ALL SWIMMERS

MINI MARLINS/POSSIBLE NEW PROGRAM

New this year we are considering having a Mini Marlins program. This would be designed for kids ages 3.5-6 who are yearning to become a Marlin, but still need some extra love and care in the water to get there. The Mini Marlins would be invited to join our team at home meets to show off their new strokes and hard work as we cheer them on 10 minutes prior to the meet commencement. Their swims would be assisted. For us to launch this program, we need to gauge interest. SWIMTOPIA

Swimtopia is the system we use as a communication tool for our swim team. Last year, the team included this cost in our registration and paid as a whole. This year Swimtopia is requiring each family register independently and pay the $12 fee to use the system. This cost will be deducted from your registration fee, so technically the team will still be covering it. If you have any questions about this, we will be happy to address them at registration. The most important thing to know now is that you will need to remember to register or you won't get these fun and exciting emails.
