Practice Times
Hey Marlins!
I want to reiterate Coach Tyler's glowing sentiments about the first week of practice going so well! Everyone looks great, and the enthusiasm is contagious! Keep up the excellent work!
As far as morning practice goes, Coach Tyler and I agree that the best way to ensure quality training is to split the 9-10 age group: the 9 year olds will train at 7:30 a.m. with the 7-8 age group, and the 10 year olds will train at 8:30 a.m. with the 11-12 age group. Only the 9-10 group will be split; all other age groups will train at the time listed in the handbook.
The rationale for this decision is that the 9 year olds may not necessarily be swimming the 7-8 program; furthermore, this is an opportunity to push the 7-8 group to keep up with the 9 year olds. By that same rationale, the 10 year olds may not swim the 11-12 program, and they can be pushed as well. In the end, this is the most equitable way to distribute a manageable number of swimmers per lane for proper instruction.
Our Mock Meet is this Thursday at 6 p.m. I will consult with Coach Ryann about running a Mini-Marlins heat 15 minutes before the meet starts. Thanks again for all your involvement and support!
Go Marlins!
