IMPORTANT update - please read

Hey Marlins!

We hope everyone is doing well and keeping healthy! We’re excited about the forthcoming season, but we’ve got some decisions to make.

Gwinnett County Swim League (GCSL) is running a season; however, the meets will be virtual. That means we will not be going to other pools to swim for meets, and no teams will be coming to us. Instead, we will hold our own meet and report times to county. Furthermore, the county meet will not be held at Georgia Tech; the location and format are to be determined (TBD).

As such, we’re developing an alternative. We’re contemplating a “conditioning season” here at our pool. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, but the focus will be on speed/endurance conditioning, stroke form development, and start/turn mechanics. In addition, we’re considering keeping the Mini-Marlins in the pool.

This is, as mentioned earlier, an alternative to competing in virtual meets. As for pricing, we’re considering a substantial reduction in price, but we won’t be able to offer refunds.

We need your feedback on which option to go with, so we’ll be posting a Survey Monkey link on the Edinburgh Marlins Facebook page this week. We'll alert you once posted.

Registration will take place during March; it will be open all month for those who need time to consider the popular option. All registration will be on Swimtopia.com; there will be no in-person registration.

We’ll need a couple of weeks to get responses and set up the website, so stay tuned, Marlins! We miss you, and we want everyone to get back in the pool safely!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any comments, questions, or concerns!

Best,

Jake Edwards
