Meet Tomorrow!! (June 24)
Good evening!
Sorry to reach out at a later time in the day. I hope that everyone is super excited about our last official meet WOOHOO!! YAY!! I just wanted to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation throughout the season. I have had endless support from all of you to encourage your kids [and other kids] which has helped make the Marlins feel like a team. Many of you are new and returning and I appreciate all of your dedication and engagement in the sport making the season feel more normal in these strange times. So a huge thank you to all of you!
Again, tomorrow's theme is college out!! (wear your favorite college team or team or school apparel)
We will do the senior swims at the beginning of the meet and the parent relays in the middle before we swim the Individual Medleys (IMs). Please sign up on the google form: https://forms.gle/QZiNMnG5CYc9t8Fj6 OR shoot me a quick email to confirm that you are swimming just so I have all the correct numbers to make the relay teams! The parent relays will be one lap (25 yards) freestyle. Thank you parents SO much :)
For the meet, remember to bring drinks and snacks since there is no concession stand. Very generously, the Balint family has offered to buy pizzas for the kids tomorrow to celebrate the last meet and Desmond and Eric's birthdays. The pizza slices will be passed out during the parent relays around 7/7:15, so please thank them for their generosity.
Make sure your kids can get some rest if they need to and to stay hydrated for tomorrow. I am attaching the heat sheet for tomorrow at the end of this email. Keep marking up your swimmers with their Events, Heats, Lanes, and names on their back as it is really helpful to our parent volunteers. The bullpen area will be under the clubhouse like the previous 2 meets.
In other news, I was in contact with the President of Gwinnett County Swim League about some County Championship news and she confirmed that spectators will NOT be allowed in the facility for County. At County the kids will be sitting up in the stands for their bullpen area to spread out and give more space on deck where the kids will have staging. They are planning on Live Streaming the meet so you can join together with some other parents to watch the meet. We have more information about this coming soon. For now, if you are on the County list that was sent out earlier this week, please keep letting Mrs. Allison Zafft ([email protected]) know if you are here during the County weekend (July 9-11) so she can keep updating the list.
Thank you all for an amazing season. I will see you all soon!
Go Marlins!!!
