County Information
July 7th
Good evening Marlins!
I have LOTSSS of information so please read the whole thing! (if you are not a volunteer some of this information you do not need to worry about, just skip over it)
- I made an attachment/diagram of where everyone will park. You will park in Lot W02 which is located at 355 Ferst Drive W02 Student Center Lot. This is located across the street from the aquatic center. This is very important because we were informed that they are ticketing and/or booting your car if you park elsewhere (that includes street parking around the Rec Center.
- You can drop off or walk your swimmers to the grass area in front of the pool (labeled in the diagram as "Campus Recreation Center"). The coaches will be in the grass already waiting for all of the kids to arrive and we will all walk to our section in the stands together.
- For volunteers: If you are volunteering (all positions except for bullpen volunteers), you can check-in at the check-in tables inside. If you are a bullpen volunteer, you will wait in the grass area with the coaches and the kids and also go back all together. Bullpen parent volunteers please also help to keep the area clean.
- Masks are NOT required at this meet. I will probably wear one just for caution (the coaches are all vaccinated just out of safety for the swimmers, I am going to wear one)
- NO PHOTOS FROM BEHIND THE BLOCKS (I have been informed this will result in us getting ejected from the pool)
- Swimmers CANNOT wear KT tape or watches.
- SWIMMERS 12 & UNDER CANNOT WEAR TECH SUITS or tieback suits (nothing that you have to tie...boys' suits can have the inside-the-suit tie, of course). If your swimmer does not have another suit to change into, it will result in your swimmer being scratched from their events. This is a USA Swimming rule that they are going to be strict about enforcing.
- Swimmers also CANNOT wear a year-round club team cap (Swim Atlanta, Dynamo, Gold, Spartans, etc.) We do not have Marlins team caps this year, so if your swimmer has a cap other than their year-round caps please let them know to wear that. My solution, for now, is to have them turn their caps in inside out if that is the only one they have. If they have an old Marlins cap, please have them wear that since it is also helpful to the parent volunteers in staging and behind the blocks.
- There will not be any concessions this year at the meet, so please pack snacks and drinks with your swimmer. I will try to collect garbage bags to provide to help keep the area clean.
- If you did not purchase a Heat Sheet Commencement Book, heats sheets for each session will be posted on the GCSL website (https://www.gwinnettswimleague.com). I will also attach the full heat sheet at the end of this.
- For volunteers: SAFE SPORT Requirements for all ADULT COACHES & VOLUNTEER WAIVERS: All adults within the venue this weekend need to sign a Safe Sport Waiver. I am attaching the Safe Sport Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) to the bottom as well so you can read it. Fill out the Google Form or print off the attached waiver prior to checking in at Tech this weekend. https://forms.gle/
qDFztCvP3eevU5wUA (if you are not going inside the pool area or in the stands/volunteering, do not worry about filling this out) - I have an updated schedule for Warmups: (please still get there 40 minutes to an hour before the warmup time since we will start promptly at these times)
