Swimmer Requests

Hey team-

We set up a new feature on our RSVP's that I want to tell you about.  As you already know, it is VERY important that you let us know if you will NOT be attending a meet.  If you are going to miss a meet, you must rsvp that you will not be attending a week in advance. The coaches and volunteer coordinator are already making schedules for the next week by the prior Sunday!  If you need a reminder on how to do, please let me know.

We have now enabled a feature that can gives parents the opportunity to make requests regarding what their child may swim.  I want to make clear, this is not a guarantee that you will get everything you request!!!  This is a way for you state preferences that can help guide the coaches for things that are important to you and your swimmer.  There are many factors and limitations that go into seeding events for a meet that the coach must take into consideration and ultimately decide--but Coach Josh welcomes your input!

** I also want to make clear that this is not something that you have to do.  If your child will be swimming in the meet, has no preferences and just trusts coach decide on entries, then you do not have to do anything different or rsvp in any way.

If you will be attending a meet AND you would like to make a request here's what you do:

Go to Swimtopia- click on Swim Meets- go down to the meet you want and click the green 'meet entry' button- click Edit (under swimmer's names)- pick your swimmer and click 'attending this meet'- enter your requests and add any comments to coach as well.  Hit Save.

You will need to enter any requests a week in advance of the meet.  *So now is the time to go in (by Sunday) and make any requests for the meet next week or make any RSVP changes.*  This request feature will be helpful for experienced swimmers who may be trying to make a time cut in a certain event or for any new swimmers that may want to try more of a particular stroke.  If there's something you'd like the coach to know about your goals, you can use the comment section for that.  You could also use the comments section to tell him if there's something that you'd rather not swim ;-).  The requests only apply to individual events- the coach will be deciding all relays.

We hope this feature will empower each swimmer to be as successful as possible!  Have a great weekend!
