It’s hard to believe we’re past the half way point of our season!! We’re going into our 4th meet this week and we will be hosting the Rivershyre Sharks. We have similar team sizes and we have more families in town this week, so it should be a good, competitive meet! It’s going to be HOT, so please plan accordingly to try and keep cool. We have a few fun extras this week— First, our theme will be NEON NIGHT! Come dressed in your brightest for a glowing good time!
Also, we are having our Marlins Give Back night, so we’ll be collecting voluntary donations benefitting the North Gwinnett Co-Op. We are asking for any “Eat My Bubbles” items, like soaps, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, detergent. Collection bins will be near concessions and we appreciate your generosity.
Coach Prielle will again be participating in Swim Atlanta’s Swim Across America event to help fight cancer. As part of her fundraiser, she is selling
Good Luck Ducks! If you would like to get your swimmer a Good Luck Duck with a personalized message this week, please fill out this Google form:
https://forms.gle/Eq8oQ1Zdennd5HPd9 by Wednesday/15th. Ducks will be delivered to your swimmer before the meet on Thursday. What a fun way to encourage your swimmer and donate to a good cause!
Here is the info you need for the meet this week:
Check-In Swimmer check- in is at 4:30! Check in table will be located on the pool deck near the back gate leading to our bullpen. Report straight to the bullpen area to check in. It is very important that your swimmer highlight their name on the board upon arrival. This is the only way that the coaches know that your swimmer is present! Volunteer check- in will also be in the same area. Parents, be sure to sign yourselves in as well and write out a name tag for yourself, so you get credit for your volunteer duty. Please see the previous volunteer email sent regarding your specific duty. --Warm-ups will begin promptly at 5:00. Mini Marlins will do their bubble heat with coaches right before the start of the meet, at 5:55. 4:30- Swimmer Check-In 5:00- Marlin warm ups 5:55- Mini Marlin swim 6:00- Start of Meet *** PLEASE, PLEASE have all swimmers STAY IN THE BULLPEN at all times! We had many swimmers sitting with parents around pool deck last week and had a difficult time finding them to line up for their events. Parents, feel free to visit your kids in the bullpen but please help us by keeping your kids in the bullpen. We'd hate for anyone to miss their race. *** The home side of the pool for Marlin parents is the side closest to our bullpen (facing the clubhouse). Please stay on the one side and keep the ends of the pool clear for coaches and officials. Be mindful that the bullpen may extend onto the pool deck by the back gate and the swimmers need a walkway to get around to the clubhouse staging area. Parking Feel free to park anywhere in our main pool parking lot or along the designated single side of the street around pool area. Parking signs will be out to guide you. Please DO NOT PARK in the vacant lot to the right of the clubhouse OR in the secondary tennis parking lot. Do not park in the round about in front of clubhouse, it’s reserved for concessions. The small part of parking to the right of clubhouse is part of the visitor’s bullpen, please keep that area clear. Thank you! Concessions /Heat Sheets Concessions will be available on the upper patio. We will have a variety of the normal fare- pizza, pasta, hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, snacks, candy and drinks. We will be accepting cash and Venmo for all purchases. We no longer will be selling heat sheets, however a pdf should be made available for you to print before you come if you wish. I will send out the full heat sheet before meet. ** Remember, do not enter clubhouse OR computer room unless you have a job that requires you to be there. Fun Friday Join us Friday morning for donuts, fun pool games and collect your ribbons! No official practice, just FUN! No mini's please as there will be pool games- sorry! 9:00-10:00- All 10 and unders 10-11:00- 11 and up Let's GO MARLINS! |
