Last Chance Meet at WT
Hi Team!
Sorry for the lateness of this email. We've been working out some details for the meet tomorrow and we've had a couple changes, so please read carefully! This will be a fun meet where hopefully our swimmers will see many of their friends and be pushed for great races!
We will still be having our Last Chance meet at Wild Timber tomorrow, Monday/26th. In order to keep the meet short, the coaches decided to cut out relays except for the 10 and unders. ONLY 10U's will swim both the medley and free relays! Both teams were missing many of their relay swimmers anyway, so this will allow for us to concentrate on getting the best times in the individual events. * Swimmer events are attached *
Again this week, because we have limited volunteers and it will be a shortened meet, all volunteer shifts will be for the full meet so we can finish as quickly as possible. Volunteer assignments will be sent separately.
The following is the meet information sent from Wild Timber: Let's be good guests and participate in their fundraiser and theme if possible ;-) Heat sheet will be sent in the morning.
Swimmer Check-in is by 4:45!
Meet Information
Jambos Fundraiser
Our team is hosting a fundraiser this week. Your team is welcome to participate. Below is information regarding the charity (Jambos) we have selected.
At Jambos, we bring comfort to one of the most stressful times in the lives of these children. We partner with foster agencies to serve as a funnel of resources to case managers working on the front lines. We strive to bring comfort to the children, the families and the agencies we serve. In 2017, Jambos began with the mission of serving the 13,000 children in foster care in our home state of Georgia. Today, we bring comfort through pajamas to children in over 30 states and 10 countries. Join us as we continue to serve kids throughout the United States and beyond! We are on a mission to bring comfort to kids in the foster care system by providing them with brand new pajamas. As an organization, we partner with your community to host pajama drives, collecting thousands of pairs of brand new pajamas to be shipped to children all over the world. We know the comfortable feeling that comes from putting on brand new pajamas and it is our heart to share that feeling with the children we serve.
We are asking for families to participate by bringing new pajamas, sizes newborn to adult (including XXL)For each pair of pajamas brought in, your swimmer will receive a sweet treat!
All genders and seasons welcomed
Gender/season Neutral /provides more options(ex. Christmas/Halloween pajamas are limited in time of year they are sent to foster kids)
Also to be trauma-informed… please avoid anything with wording such as mom/dad.
Theme
Red, white and blue!
Parking
We have an average-size parking lot and a good amount of street parking. We will block two spaces for your team in the main lot by the pool. Please remind your families to park only on one side of the street (it will be marked) and not to block any driveways or fire hydrants. There will be signs directing your team to our pool and signs in areas in which there is no parking. Our pool address is 6235 Wild Timber Rd., Sugar Hill.
You may begin setting up at 4:30. This is an agreed-upon time between the swim team and our HOA, so we ask for your cooperation.
Bullpens
Your bullpen will be outside the pool fencing between the playground and volleyball/sand area on the grass. Please bring tents for your bullpen as there are not many trees around for shade. Swimmers are not allowed to play on the tennis courts, volleyball court or playground. Marlins, our bullpen will be in a large field, but we want you to set up close to the entrance of the pool so we can easily call you. Please stay in the bullpen at all times!
Visitor Seating
As you enter the pool area, the visitor seating area is to the right of the pool on the same side as the baby pool. There will be some areas blocked off for relay staging, and we also ask for your spectators to leave a path along the pool deck for timers and coaches to move freely from one end of the pool to another.
Concessions
We will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, Chick-fil-A, pizza, drinks, chips, and all your favorite candy!
Extreme Weather
Weather is always a concern! If we have a delay due to storms, we will ask people to go to their cars for safe shelter. The lower clubhouse is reserved for coaches, council, and scoring-no swimmers or parents. Our makeup time is Tuesday morning at 8:00 am.
Warm-Up Times & Tiny Timbers.
We will have a few heats of our Tiny Timbers prior to 6:00, so we will have WTTE warm-ups from 4:55-5:20, and your warm-ups from 5:20-5:45. We will have the National Anthem and we will start at 6:00.
