Directions
GA Tech Aquatic Center - Directions From I-85/75 Heading South
Take I-85/75 South to Exit 249D – North Avenue; Turn Right onto North Avenue.
Take North Avenue to the second traffic light and make a Right onto Tech Parkway. ( Coca-Cola Headquarters is at that intersection. Luckie Street would be the left turn at that intersection.)
Take Tech Parkway about 1⁄2 mile to the first traffic light which is Regents Drive and make a Right. (Means Street would be the left turn at that intersection; the sign for Regents Drive is hard to see; look for GA Tech sign at that corner)
Make an immediate Right onto Ferst Drive. The open air lot and parking deck are just ahead on your left.
Parking in the lot and deck are $5 per exit for both Saturday and Sunday sessions. DO NOT PARK in permitted areas or you will be ticketed.
The Aquatic Center is directly across from the open air lot on Ferst Drive.
Return to I-85/75 North
Reverse route and get back onto North Avenue (make left onto North Avenue at the corner of Tech Parkway and North Avenue)
Take North Avenue across I-85/75 and follow signs to I-85/75 North. You actually make a Right onto Spring Street from North Avenue and follow Spring to the ramp for I-85/75 North. The Varsity is at the corner of North Avenue and Spring Street.

Helpful Hints
The kids will be in a small area behind the diving well. They need lots of things to entertain themselves with. Consider things like cards, write on wipe off boards, books, games.
They are not supposed to leave the deck and parents are not allowed onto the deck so a phone might not be a bad idea. It might be a god idea to show the your kid where you are sitting so they can wave.
Tell them where to meet you after or tell them not to leave the bull pen without you. Pick a plan.
It's a really long time so snacks are important.
Label everything. The lost and found at GA Tech is the lifeguard room on deck behind the officials tables. Usually they set something up outside of their sliding glass doors.
It's indoors when they are used to swimming outside, absolutely need sweatshirts/flannel pants/sweatpants.
Chairs are not allowed but they are on a wet tile floor, maybe helpful to send cushions or mats, and more than one towel.
Sharpie to write their name on back, especially for younger kids, plus heats & lanes.
Our bullpen is a long way from the bathroom, tell them to go every time coaches offer.
Consider stadium seats for parents, if you are staying for more than one session bring a cushion.
Don't forget your tickets, some sessions are crowded. They don't check them at the door but you may need it to claim your seats.
T- shirt line is long and slow. Parking payment is slow. Arrive early.
GA Tech concessions are slow and expensive. They do have smoothies but they are painfully slow. Coolers are not allowed, "large lunch boxes" are.
Arrive early, warm up is a must because the blocks are really different. Warm up times TBD.
Flip through pictures and prepare your kid for how big the pool deck is, how deep the pool is, and how far away their parents will be.
