A note from Coach Jared....

Hey Marlins,

I hope you all are getting excited for the County meet this weekend! It's going to be a great weekend, and we have an awesome county team going to Georgia Tech this year!

Here is some info for the weekend.

1.) Arrival:
-9&10 session on Saturday morning
-arrive no later than 8:00 AM 
-13&up session on Saturday afternoon
- arrive no later than 1:00 PM
-8&under session on Sunday morning
-arrive no later than 7:00 AM
-11&12 session on Sunday afternoon 
-arrive no later than 1:15 AM

2.) Food
Night before meet:
-eat good healthy carbs like grilled chicken or spaghetti
-drink lots of water
Day of meet:
-eat healthy breakfast with carbs and fruit
-avoid lots of dairy, fried foods or spicy foods
During meet:
-short term carbs like bagels, granola bars, crackers,etc...
-avoid candy, fried food, and greasy food

Absolutely no energy drinks or soft drinks before or during county. Only water and Gatorade.

3.) Rest
-get a good nights sleep 
-avoid other athletic activities
-relax your body and muscles and save your energy 

4.) What to bring to county:
-blanket or towel to sit on
-separate towel to dry off with
-healthy snacks
-water or Gatorade
-books, tablets, iPods or games so long as they don't distract swimmers
-hoodie and sweat pants or shorts to stay warm and loose

5.) Homework:
-everyone go to YouTube and find the 2008 Olympics USA Men's 400 yard freestyle relay and watch it before county. Everyone should race like Jason Lezak. Get HYPE!
