County Meet

Parents,

As the season begins to wind down it is time to begin thinking about the county meet. For those of you that are new to summer league swim team, the top 50 swimmers in the county in each individual stroke are invited to compete at the County Meet. A swimmer may swim a maximum of 3 individual events for which they have qualified. Each team will also send their top medley and freestyle relay team in each age group to compete in the county meet. The relays are very exciting at county and some swimmers may qualify for the relay team even if they don't qualify for an individual event and even if they haven't swam on the A relay team in the past (due to availability)!

The meet is held at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center July 11-12. The meet is broken up into sessions based on age group.

Saturday July 11th - Morning session 9-10s 7:30am warm ups, 9:20am start

Afternoon session 13 & up 1:30pm warm ups, 3:15pm start

Sunday July 12th - 8 & under, 7:30am warm ups, 9:15am start

Afternoon session 11-12s  1:15pm warm ups, 3:00pm start

If you want to see where your child ranks in the county, thus far, you can go to the following site:http://www.gwinnettswimleague.com/WeeklyMeetResults/index.html

From there you can open the link to the most current Top 75/Top 100 .PDF to see if your child is listed. Keep in mind that the rankings change every week and the only one that matters is the final one. However, you can use these preliminary ones to help gauge where you child ranks now.

If you know now that you will be unable to attend the county meet the weekend of July 11-12, please let Coach Jared at [email protected] and the county coordinator, Lyana Goshko at [email protected] know ASAP, so that we will know that you will not be there and can plan accordingly.

Thanks,

Lyana Goshko
