EDM @ MV- Thursday, June 17th- MEET INFORMATION...
The AWAY meet this week is Thursday, June 17th at MorningView Manta Rays at 6pm!
Physical Address is: 3355 Westbrook Road, Suwanee, GA 30024
Directions from Edinburgh front gate- Continue on Johnson Rd. Right on Suwanee Dam Rd. Cross over Peachtree Industrial, and take a left onto Smithtown Road. Turn left onto Westbrook Road and the pool should be on your right.
Parking As always, parking is an issue and we encourage carpooling. Cars cannot park on the grass in the parking lot area or across the street from the clubhouse (these are private properties and not part of MorningView - the homeowners have been know to tow ). Parents can drop their swimmers off at the clubhouse where they can enter through the gates and proceed to the visitor’s bullpen area which will be to the left at the rear of the clubhouse.
Overflow parking is available in the following area: turn right out of the clubhouse parking lot onto Westbrook Road, turn right at Ridge Road, and take the first right at Morning Mist Walk (Havenwood neighborhood). Parking is allowed on one side of the street as marked. The police do patrol during swim meets and may ticket or tow cars that are not parked within our lot or in the overflow parking area in Havenwood.
Warm-ups: Your team is scheduled to warm up at 5:30
Bullpen: Proceed through the entry gate and go left of the main pool; head to the grassy area and seating on the cement around the adult pool. Please make sure each Marlin swimmer stays in the bullpen, so our coaches and volunteers can easily get them to their next race! We don't want any Marlins to miss a swim.
Visitor seating: will be left of the main aisle as you enter the pool (near concessions) and left of the lifeguard stand on the main level.
Concessions: we offer Chick Fil A, pizza, hot dogs, nachos, drinks, Rita’s and of course, plenty of candy.
Heat sheets are $2 this season. They can be purchased at a table beneath the canopy right inside the gate. For heat winners we give out "Manta Money" which is good for 50 cents at the concession stand.
Please make sure you look to see what you are volunteering for on the website.
Swimmers and Volunteers need to check in at the Marlins check in table by 4:30pm. First shift Volunteers must report to their assignments by 5:30pm, meet starts promptly at 6:00pm. Second shift Volunteers must report around Event 32, this will be announced during the meet.
The event numbers are in the family folders, but heats and lanes will not be available until we get to MorningView.
Weather Delays
What if it starts raining at a meet? We do swim in the rain, not a thunderstorm.
If a meet is interrupted for a thunderstorm, DO NOT GO HOME! For everyone’s safety, follow the inclement weather instructions in the Heat Sheet. Many times the meet will resume where it left off after the storm passes. If it does not resume, you will be notified via text of the make -up date, which will be determined prior to the meet by both teams. For home meets the make-up date will be the next evening unless otherwise notified. Volunteers will keep the same assignments for the make-up meet. Please find your own replacement if you cannot attend the second meet.
Also remember to bring garbage bags to keep towels/stuff dry, ponchos, tents or something to keep you dry!
