IMPORTANT- COUNTY MEET INFO.
Dear Edinburgh Marlins Parents,
In preparation for the upcoming County meet, I have put together a list of
all the EDM swimmers who will potentially participate in the championship
meet.
Here is some general information (especially for those new to the GCSL or
with first year county swimmers):
1. Individual Events - The top 50 swimmers in each event, after the
last meet of the season, have the opportunity to participate in the
championship meet in up to 3 events (not including relays).
2. Relays - Every team can send their top relay team for IM and FREE.
3. In both cases above, participation is based first on rank/time and
second on availability.
4. Because many swimmers qualify for more than 3 individual events,
when they choose their 3 county events, the rankings will change and many
swimmers outside of the top 50 will be shifted up, qualifying them to
participate. If your swimmer is in the top 75 or even top 100, they may
still have a chance to make the championships.
As of week 4 we have the potential to send 65 swimmers to the County meet,
but this number is bound to change due to final rankings and availability.
I have created a document with those 65 swimmers, their rank, and the time
the league used to rank them. It is very important that each family check
for their child/children and verify that the information I put together is
correct, we want to be sure that every child that has earned the opportunity
to go to the championship meet can go if they choose to.
Please review the attached document in its entirety, here is a brief
explanation:
1. Page 1 is a matrix of all EDM county qualifiers and their events.
The number under each event is that swimmer's rank in the event.
2. Pages 2-7 have the individual events and each swimmer's time as
posted by the league through meet #4. THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO VERIFY THAT
THE INFORMATION IS CORRECT.
3. Pages 8 & 9 list the MEDLEY and FREE relay teams.
4. Page 10 shows the DATE & TIME for the championship meet.
Please check-in with me via email ([email protected]) or in person during
Thursday's meet. I need direct feedback on every one of the County
qualifiers with either YES (attending County meet) or NO (not attending
County meet). Some of you have already provided a response and I updated
the first page of the spread sheet with your responses.
This is very important, if I do not receive feedback on every swimmer, I
will conclude that those who did not respond will NOT be attending the
County meet (there is a hefty fine for each no-show at the County meet).
In addition, those that are selected and choose to go to county will have the following practice schedule starting next MONDAY June 30. We suggest everyone currently in the running to go to County to attend practice, then if their status changes they will be notified.

10:00 – 11:00 am 11/12, 13/14, 15+
