Parents,
As the season begins to wind down it is time to begin thinking about the county meet. For those of you that are new to summer league swim team, the top 50 swimmers in the county in each individual stroke and the top 2 relay groups for each relay type from the team are invited to compete at the County Meet. The meet is held at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center July 12-13. The meet is broken up into sessions based on age group. We have NOT been given the final confirmation of the session/age groups yet, I will communicate that as soon as I know it for sure so that you can plan accordingly.
If you want to see where your child ranks in the county, thus far, you can go to the following site: http://www.gwinnettswimleague.com/WeeklyMeetResults/index.html
From there you can open the link to the most current Top 75/Top 100 .PDF to see if your child is listed. Keep in mind that that the rankings change every week and the only one that matters is the final one. However, you can use these preliminary ones to help gauge where you child ranks now in an effort to see if the county meet is an option for you. I will be putting together a communication once the list for the June 20th meet is added with all of our swimmers that are on the list.
We will be adding an additional meet to the Marlins website labeled County Meet. If you know now that you will be unable to attend the county meet the weekend of July 12-13, please RSVP out of the meet so that we will know that you will not be there and can plan accordingly.
I will be reaching out to the parents of those that appear on the June 20th, 2014 Top 75 list at the swim meet this coming Thursday to see if your child will be available for county should they make the final list. You can help me out by looking for me and letting me know in one of two ways. Please look for me and let me know at the meet or send me an e-mail at [email protected]. If you are not familiar with who I am or what I look like, I am the bald guy with a goat-tee in a white Marlins committee polo shirt.
In addition, those that are selected and choose to go to county will have the following practice schedule after this week:
EDM County Practice June 30, July 1,2,3 July 7-11
9:00 – 10:00 am 6U, 7/8, 9/10

Thanks,
Chris Wood
