Dear Edinburgh Marlins Parents
I wanted to extend my gratitude for all your support this year, we were able to once again enjoy a winning season while having lots of fun. I have really enjoyed watching all the children develop through the season and look forward to seeing all of you at our awards banquet. So, if you've not signed up to attend, please do so ASAP, I assure you we will have a good time celebrating another great season.
As in every season that we have been through, this year we have continued to improve. Three of our four victories this year were quite convincing and our losses were by narrower margins than before. We also became more efficient at running the meets, both home and away, and most importantly we put together our best ever coaching staff! We have also managed to operate the financial side of the team quite efficiently and stand prepared to meet some of the on-going team expenses.
This concludes my second and last year as primary council, a role that I have enjoyed and hope to have filled adequately. I have a growing business and am very involved in the activities for our four boys, but also I am a firm believer in NEW IDEAS. This is the reason why I feel that a two year cycle for the head council will keep the team always fresh and open to growth and improvement. It is very easy for "institutional" thinking to take hold if our committee positions do not get recycled, especially the primary council role.
This message is an official plea to you; please consider getting involved in the swim team committee! We need a PRIMARY COUNCIL and two more committee positions. We have decided that chair positions in the swim team committee will receive, as an incentive for their hard work, one free swimmer registration. Please consider this request very carefully and contact me at [email protected] if you are interested. We are building a tradition of excellence here with the Edinburgh Marlins. Please help us continue to grow and improve.
