Meet Results and Note about Evening Practices

The Marlins were not able to pull out a win last night but it was VERY close at times, at some points during the meet we were only about 40 points apart!  We did have to scratch some relays later in the evening because some swimmers left - this is why we can't stress enough to COME AND STAY.  Swim meets are long and there is alot of waiting, this is the nature of the sport though there is really no way to make it shorter or faster.

The results are....

Steeple Station Rays - 892
Edinburgh Marlins - 658

Total Edinburgh Marlins Girls Scores - 369
Total Edinburgh Marlins Boys Scores - 289

Total Steeple Station Girls Scores - 414
Total Steeple Station Boys Scores - 478

Thank everyone for swimming hard and all the volunteers who worked hard to make it a very successful first home meet!  Also, thank everyone for supporting the raffle fundraiser - lots of great prizes were won last night!!  Please remember to bring extra cash for every home meet and especially for the grand prize Jamaica trip raffle, as well as for all the great merchandise and yummy food and ice cream!

We'll win the next one!!

P.S.   Evening practices are for swimmers who are rarely or never able to attend morning practices and swim team is limited to 2 lanes at night. Those swimmers only get 2 hours of practice per week so they need to optimize their practice time. Their practice is hindered when a dozen or more extra swimmers show up for evening practice. If a swimmer wants to attend an evening practice then the parents need to ask Laura if there is room for their child. She may allow a few swimmers but she will have to limit the number and it will be on a first come first served basis, therefore some may be denied permission to attend. Coach Laura and the Committee are thrilled to have the kids practice but unfortunately due to limited time and space evening practices have to be somewhat restrictive.
