Practice Meet Recap

We did it!  The first one is under our belts and this email is to recap the meet and let you know what issues we ran across so we can fix them in the future.  The times are posted on the site and so are some pictures from last evening's event.  Just click on "roster" on the left hand side of the home page for times.  Do not worry too much if your child got DQ'd, this is why we practice and figure out what to work on.  The following are some issues we had....

PLEASE PLEASE do not just not show up to a meet without telling someone!  It puts other volunteers and other swimmers in a very rough position and sometimes can even result in forfeiting a relay (can you imagine how the other 3 kids feel when they find out they are missing a swimmer and can't do a relay and have to take last place or how another volunteer feels when they have to do your work on top of their own?)  If you can not come even if it is last minute please call the volunteer coordinator and let her know.  We can not stress this enough.  Your child will not be able to swim at the next meet if you do not show up for your volunteer position.

Do not be late to a meet, check in is at 4:30pm.  Please check in your swimmer at the check in desk and if you are volunteering get your name tag that will be printed for you.

No one is allowed in any part of the pool at ANY time during a meet, this means no legs, no feet, and even no sitting on the pool ladder poles.  We can get points deducted for this.

The Bull-Pen is nuts, there is really no way to get around that - please help keep it less nuts by keeping your swimmers things in one area, putting sunscreen on before the meet OR taking your child away from others when spraying it, no balls allowed, and also if your child needs help in the bathroom please take them (we had 2 clogged toilets last night and we NEED the toilets to work) if you thought it was crowded last night, get ready for the crowd when there is another entire swim team present.

Coaches are available for swim lessons!  Please email them for more info if you are interested.

Want to get out of your next meet volunteer duty?  Volunteer to help during our upcoming pool party on June 5th or July 4th!  Help is needed from the hours of 2-4 or 4-6.  Email Heather Baxter is you are interested. [email protected]

Remember no practice on Monday, enjoy the holiday!
