Well today is the day of our first meet and since it is not against anyone else we can relax and enjoy it and prepare ourselves for the ones to come.  You may have noticed that your child is swimming all 4 strokes tonight unless they are a 6 an under swimmer.  This is what we do during the 1st meet for seed times, tell your swimmer to do their best and go over the things they need to remember with each stroke.

Free - basically on this stoke the only thing that will get a DQ is if they touch the bottom.

Back - They must stay on their back the ENTIRE time, they can not turn around at the end onto their tummy to touch the wall.

Breast - Lots of things can happen during this one so read through the rules in your manual but the main one is BOTH hands must touch the wall at the SAME time at the end.

Butterfly - Read through manual on this one too, but 2 main things are no flutter kicking and BOTH hands touch the wall at the same time at the end.

There will be no practice on Memorial Day.  There will be practice on Friday same times, no MMM.

Please don't forget cash for snacks, drinks etc.

Bring a towel  and maybe even something for you swimmer to do in the bull-pen while they wait to be called.  It is very important that ALL swimmers stay in the bull-pen so we don't have to look for them when it's their turn - in a real meet we would need to forfeit that event, there is no waiting for swimmers.
